Pecan-Date Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 cups flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks oleo or butter
  • 1 cup ground or chopped dates
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon cloves
  • 3 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 teaspoons cocoa

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and dates and mix well with mixer.
  2. By hand, add flour and spice mixture, milk and pecans.
  3. Roll with hand to form small balls.
  4. Bake on a greased cookie sheet about 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
  5. Make icing and roll cookies in.
