INGREDIENTS
- 1 ½ cups white sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar packed
- ½ stick butter or margarine
- A pinch of salt
- ½ cup evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups whole pecans
DIRECTIONS
- Cook sugar, salt, and milk until it comes to a rolling boil.
- Add butter and let remain on fire until butter has completely melted.
- Remove from fire and beat until it begins to thicken.
- Add nuts and vanilla and drop by teaspoon on wax paper. If it gets too hard to drop, return to fire and remelt.
